Jeudi 25 Février 2016, à environ 09:11 GMT, un contact ARISS est prévue pour Istituto Sobrero, Casale Monferrato, en Italie. Le contact direct sera exploité par IK1SLD.
Les signaux provenant de l’espace sera audible sur l’Europe sur 145.800MHz bande étroite FM.

L’école est dédiée à Ascanio Sobrero. 12 octobre 2012 a été célébré le 200e anniversaire de sa naissance.
Ascanio Sobrero était un chimiste italien, né dans notre ville, Casale Monferrato, et au cours de ses recherches, il a découvert la « nitroglycérine ».
Sobrero inspiré le jeune Alfred Nobel qui a reçu plusieurs brevets dans le monde entier pour les mélanges, les dispositifs et les procédés de fabrication en fonction de la puissance explosive de la nitroglycérine.
Nobel a toujours reconnu et honoré Sobrero comme l’homme qui avait découvert la nitroglycérine.
